There is no shortage of exciting things to do and see in Adelaide.

The city is a sporting mecca, home to iconic Adelaide Oval, which hosts many sporting matches each year – not least of all The Ashes cricket test series and AFL football. Further afield you’ll find stunning golf courses, lush parks and sporting fields, cutting-edge stadiums and raceways.

If you wish to get active yourself, there are amazing walking trails, hiking tracks, and running and riding pathways to explore, all close to the city’s heart. Home of the Tour Down Under cycling race each January, the city is a very popular destination to explore by bike.

As you explore the city and surrounding parklands, you will see signage identifying Kaurna names of parklands and squares alongside the English name. These include Light Square/Wauwi, Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama, and Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga. Taking note of this signage can be a great way to learn more about the area as the Kaurna name can pay tribute to a local Elder or link to the area.
